To celebrate hosting the Asian Cup the UAE Central Bank on Tuesday announced that it will be issuing commemorative silver coin and a commemorative one Dirham coin. From Wednesday on the coins will be made available as the football tournament hosted by the UAE runs till February 1st. The commemorative silver coin made up of 92.5 % of silver and 7.5 % of copper, it weighs 40 gms with 44 mm diameter. On the main side of the coin, the logo of the Asian cup is depicted while on the obverse side the denominational value is written in both Arabic and English. It is said to issue 1,000 such coins. The commemorative one Dirham coin will retain its face with the back depicting the logo of the tournament. The branches of Central Bank will circulate this. From January 5th to February 1, 2019, UAE is hosting the 17th edition of the AFC Asian Cup.
