On the 47th National day, the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has announced that it will issue a commemorative silver coin, a commemorative one dirham coin and a Dh 100 denomination banknote with the “Year of Zayed” logo. This is a tribute to the UAE’s founding father, Shaik Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This also highlights the history from which the people of UAE derive their unique identity. With a weight of 60 grams, the Central Bank will issue 5,000 silver commemorative coins. The logo and the Year of Zayed will be on the front side of the coin. The commemorative one Dirhams by the Central Bank will have the “Year of Zayed 1918-2018” featured on the back of the coin. At the Central Bank main office, the silver commemorative coin will be made available. As per the established procedures, the commemorative coin and the special edition Dh 100 banknote will be introduced into circulation.
