Taking into account the increasing use of digital payment methods and mobile technology, the First Trust Bank has taken the decision to stop issuing their own banknotes. Its ATM ‘s are now dispensing Bank of England Notes.
They will continue to handle banknotes issued by the Bank of England and other authorized note-issuing banks in Northern Ireland and Scotland. The banknotes will be accepted until midnight on 30th June 2022.
