To keep with the launch strategy of CRISP Evolution (CE) family of banknotes, the release of a fourth member to the family, CE $1⁄2 on Thursday, January 24, 2019. This will be the complete redesign of this banknote since 1984. The banknote measures 156 mm long and 66mm wide with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth 2, the series and the signature of the governor of the Central Bank of Bahamas together with the words “Central Bank of Bahamas”.
The note is predominantly grey, with the shades of green, blue, coral, lilac and red. Under the Central Bank of Bahamas act 2000, these notes are legal tender for the payment of any amount Fifty Cents. On the obverse side, a watermark of Queen Elizabeth 2 and numeral $1⁄2, a replica map of the island of Bahamas and the denominational value in words and figures appear on the left, with an image of a strongback flower in the centre. The reverse side portraits the image of Sister Sarah in the straw market. The numeral $1⁄2 appears in the upper left and lower right corners, where the vignette is flanked above by the numeral. On the upper-right quadrant are the words “Fifty Cents”. The coat of arms of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas along with the words “Central Bank of Bahamas” is present just below the vignette of Sister Sarah.
