The Tanzanian government has banned the change of its currency with the Kenyan currency in order to lock out illicit cash flows into the country. The order is issued as the result of the introduction of Kenya’s new notes to stop counterfeit money. The Bank of Tanzania has been notified to freeze CBK currency collection account with immediate effect.
