Due to the severe economic crisis and cash shortage, the Central Bank of Sudan has decided to release new banknotes this month. To resolve this, new banknotes of 100, 200 and 500 will be launched in mid-January. After hitting a record 68.93 % inflation this December the Central Bank intends to reduce the country’s inflation rate to 27.1 %. In the street demonstrations conducted by several states against rising prices and the shortage of basic commodities.
