Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Benjamin Diokno supports the proposal to convert P20 bills into coins. The coins will bear the face of President Manuel Quezon just as it is in the banknotes that are in circulation. The design of the coin is still under work.
Manuel Quezon, second President of the Philippines, led the country during the American occupation from 1935 to 1944.
Even though the coin costs more to produce, they are more cost-efficient as they will last for 10 to 15 years.
