In the memory of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a commemorative Rs 100 coin was released on Monday by PM Modi, which will be the highest denomination in the form of a coin. Due to prolonged illness at the age of 93, the former PM died at the AIIMS in the National Capital. Modi would visit the Vajpayee’s memorial on Tuesday to reiterate his commitment to the ideology and the path shown by the statesman. The commemorative coins were released weeks after the government introduced the Rs 200 denomination for the first time.
