The National Bank of Hungary will issue the Hungary’s new forint bank note, with enhanced security features on February 1st. On November 1st,2019 the old forint notes will be withdrawn from circulation. It can be exchanged in post offices for a period of 3 years and at Central Bank for 20 years, free of charge. On the obverse side it has a portrait of Ferenc Rakoczi, who led an uprising against Habsburgs and on the opposite side, a castle of Sarospatak can be seen. The upgradation of the 500 forint bill will be the last to be done in the framework of NBH in 2014.
